Through partnerships with various City of Philadelphia departments, agencies, and local businesses, our community-based program provides training and competition at sites throughout Philadelphia.
Special Olympics PA – Philadelphia offers eleven Olympic-style sports throughout the city of Philadelphia. Training for our community programming occurs on weeknights and weekends with competitions happening on weekends throughout the city of Philadelphia.
In addition to our traditional sports, we also offer Unified Sports. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team where they train and compete together. We currently offer Unified Bocce and Unified Soccer. The concept of Unified Sports was inspired by a simple principle: training and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
Both Traditional and Unified Sports gives athletes and partners the chance to compete at local, invitational, sectional, state, national, and world games.
To register or sign up an athlete, check out Become an Athlete. For more information about our Community Program, please contact Michelle Cordell.
