The Young Professional Committee held an Ice Skating Social on Thursday, January 18th for athletes and their families. Especially for such a chilly night in January, there was such a great turnout of athletes, young professionals, and friends! The winter ice skating event was held at the Blue Cross RiverRink in Philadelphia and everyone had a blast!
After meeting up at the rink, everyone was fitted for skates and took to the ice. Athlete, Sharon Quarles, never skated before and decided to give it a try. With the help and support of friends, she was able to complete two laps without falling! Athlete, Teddy Angerman, was a pro and as soon as he hit the ice was doing laps around some of our attendees. The night consisted of lots of laps around the ice rink and lots of laughs inside the lodge with warm beverages.
After everyone had enough ice skating and enough of the chilly weather, the group headed inside the cozy lodge to warm up with some hot chocolate and apple cider. The group even got to play some group games that were provided in the lodge – like Jenga and an oversized Connect 4.
Thanks to all who made it or donated tickets and we look forward to another wonderful ice skating event next winter!
